My professional photography career began in 2000, and within two years I was shooting my first commission for BaByliss Professional. As a fashion photographer specialising in hair and beauty, I became well known not just in that industry but also in the photographic trade. I went from working with local salons onto major brands including Hempz, Wella, Redken and HABIA, creating images for everything from advertising and editorial use to educational textbooks.
My work also brought me to the attention of Swiss studio lighting manufacturer Elinchrom and I have led seminars as their ‘lighting guru’, as well as speaking at many colleges, universities and professional groups around the UK. This has also led to me being commissioned by Lord Halifax to shoot rare artworks for a limited edition book printed by Christies of London.
I put my success since I began my career down to a good deal of hard work, and an ability to get on with everyone I work with. I’m fortunate to be respected by clients and the photographic industry alike. My passion for my work is shown through the work I do for organisations including the British Institute of Professional Photography and the Master Photographers Association, which has awarded me a Fellowship in recognition of my fashion photography.
